The year was 1958, and a small, determined woman named Rita stared down the growing monster that was her once-loving husband’s alcoholism. Sober, Bob was affectionate, a good dad, and a hard worker. When he drank, he morphed into someone unrecognizable. Told that Catholics don’t divorce, Rita breaks from the tradition of staying in an unsafe marriage to save her children. It’s a mission she is determined to accomplish no matter the cost. In Where Are All The Kids? author Teri Leonard Michaud lovingly and unflinchingly explores the dynamics of marriage, family, and addiction, at a time when women were rarely given the option to stand on their own. Beautifully written, heart-wrenching, and ultimately redemptive, Where Are All The Kids? will remind you that there is no power quite like that of a mother’s love.

"Through a rich and honest storytelling voice, Where Are All the Kids will have readers rooting for Rita--a strong and determined mother who worked tirelessly to break through society's expectations of who and what a woman should and could do to keep her children together. Teri Leonard Michaud is a beautiful writer of memories that engages the reader from the very first page and leaves you wanting more as soon as you turn the last page"

"Author Teri Michaud has reimagined the interior life of a woman a generation older. She has done her research and given us a heroine who challenged the status quo of the 1950s and 1960s. A chorus of voices of family, friends, neighbors and church leaders told her what she couldn't or shouldn't do. This is a story of struggle and resilience as she said no to the naysayers and made a better life for herself and her children."

"Where Are All The Kids is a testament to one woman’s courage, resourcefulness, and
triumph over adversity, especially when her children are at risk. This page turner, a true story,
unfortunately familiar to many women, will have you laughing and crying. I loved every minute of it."
